The Vikings basketball team trailed Schenectady County Community College by 12 points with less than 10 minutes left in the game, but Daisean Roberts’ (Cadozo/Queens) spark provided a late rally to bring the game to overtime.
Roberts tied the game at 58, after he stole the ball at half court and drove in for a lay-up. The very next possession, Roberts stole the ball again and found Anthony Robustiano (Mohonasen/Rotterdam), who knocked down the open three-point field goal to give the Vikings a three point lead. A late three pointer from Schenectady put the game in overtime, where the Royals defeated the Vikings 83-75.
Robustiano and Kalik Parker (Ragsdale (NC)/Jamestown, NC) led the way with 18 points a piece. Steve Hunt (Tamarac/Wyantskill) added a double-double, recording 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The Vikings host Tompkins Cortland Community College on today at 1 p.m.
